Let the travel countdown begin!
A wise man once said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Knowing this to be true, I am taking my first step today. Actually, all I am doing is setting the timer which will eventually set all wheels in motion. After plotting, planning, and hypothesizing, I now believe that the countdown can begin on my future round-the-world adventure. Lots to do from now until the hourglass runs dry, but at least the clock is ticking. Yes, folks, 727 days until our journey begins. I can't wait till the day of departure to reflect back on this post and feel the thrill of accomplishment, and the vindication of sacrifice. 727 and counting......

Good luck to you. All the sacrifices will be worth it, the hardest part is trying to keep focused. You'll have bad days (I had plenty when I was working two jobs a few years back) but when you're on a palm-fringed beach or a snow-capped mountain, it's all the sweeter when you've had to work hard to get there.
I'm surrounded by friends back home who tell me how lucky I am to do what I do. I know what they mean, but it isn't about luck, it's about putting in the hours and doing something with your life if you're not happy with it.
That wise man was indeed very wise. Many people prepare to make that journey, but not all have the bottle to see it through. Fair play to you and once again, good luck.
